John
R. Haas has been an active member of the Ohio bar since 1990. Upon
successful completion of the LL.M. program at the Boston University
School of Law in 1991, John began his legal career as an associate
with the lawfirm Gurley, Rishel, Myers, Kopech & Northrup where he
clerked during law school. In 1993, John moved back to his hometown
of Portsmouth where he has been continuously engaged in the private
practice of law. He concentrates his practice in the areas of civil
and commercial litigation, with an emphasis in insurance defense and
personal injury litigation, real estate, probate and estate planning,
banking and business planning and organizations.
John graduated from the Ohio State
University with a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science in 1987, and
obtained his law degree from Capital University in 1990. He obtained
a LL.M. in International Trade and
Banking Law from the Boston University School of Law in 1991.
John served as a page
under Speaker of the House Vernal G. Riffe, Jr. at the Ohio House of
Representatives from 1986 to 1987. |

He also served as Assistant to the
Majority Counsel for the Ohio House of
Representatives in 1988.
He is admitted to
practice before all Ohio
courts. He is also admitted to practice
before the United States District Court
for the Southern District of Ohio, the
United States Court of Appeals for the
Sixth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of
the United States.
John is a member of
the Ohio Association
of Civil Trial Attorneys, Ohio State Bar
Association and the Portsmouth/Scioto
County Bar Association. |
